Milk's Favorite Cookie
Some American brands, such as McDonald's and Coca Cola, have become ubiquitous abroad. Nabisco's Oreo cookie is yet another example of Western food that has made its way to Hong Kong. In fact, there are quite a few varieties of Oreos sold here in addition to the regular chocolate sandwich cookie with white creme filling.
Chocolate-filled Oreos are also popular in Hong Kong. And then there are these, which are half chocolate and half peanut butter.

Another, more unusual variety is these blueberry, "ice cream" Oreos. They actually taste more like blueberry + mint than ice cream itself. The iciness must refer to the temperature more than the flavor of ice cream.

Sadly, my favorite kind of Oreo is nowhere to be found in Hong Kong. The Double Stuf cookie appears to be too oversized and all-American for the more body-conscious Chinese. Which is why, of course, they do offer a reduced sugar version called "mildly sweet." As if!
