Teawood Temptations

I have wanted to eat at Teawood for quite a while now; in fact, David and I already tried to go there, but we were 15th in line and too hungry to wait. This Saturday, however, we went to the Mong Kok branch around noon and were seated immediately.

The main reason I wanted to eat at this Taiwanese chain was to try their special dessert called 'honey toast'. It consists of three thick slices of toast topped with ice cream, whipped cream, mini marshmallows and fruit.

What you can't see in the picture is that the centers of two slices of toast have been removed, cut up and coated with honey. Mmm! We chose the chocolate toast to share and it was yummy, but the strawberry and blueberry versions also looked delicious.

Of course, you can't have only ice cream and toast for lunch, or you shouldn't very often anyway. We also ordered the spicy wontons and a bowl of beef noodle soup to share, and they both were wonderful.

As in most Hong Kong restaurants, the beef in the soup was very fatty, but the broth was lovely. And according to the menu, the soup's thicker-style noodles were homemade.
