Pork Katsu

As in America, most shopping malls in Hong Kong have food courts. Although here, there are often two types of food courts even within the same mall. There is one up towards the higher levels of the mall that is not necessarily a food court, rather just a floor of restaurants grouped together.

Then on the lower levels, there is the more typical food court with a variety of stalls cooking all types of food: Chinese, Japanese, Korean, burgers, etc., etc. In the mall Elements, there is a grocery store called ThreeSixty that has its own food court inside. Here, the choices aren't quite so extensive, but there is still plenty to choose from.

When I went there for lunch on Wednesday, I was torn between Japanese and a delicious-looking chicken salad and avocado sandwich. In the end, I opted for pork katsu, the Japanese fried cutlet with curry sauce because it came as a set meal.

This is one of my all-time favorite things to eat at a Japanese restaurant because the curry is so warm and nice, but not too spicy. However, this version actually tasted more like ketchup, though it was still pretty good. And the coleslaw salad had a nice sesame-mayonnaise dressing.
