Honbo at The Mills
As we continue to try to find new and interesting things to do in Hong Kong during the pandemic, we finally paid a visit to The Mills. Located in Tsuen Wan, this art and shopping center is housed in a restored textile factory and mill.
In addition to cute shops featuring local artwork and textiles, there are quite a few restaurants and cafes at The Mills. It's a very dog-friendly place, so you can even find tea sets, baked goods and ice cream for your furry friend.
We decided to eat at Honbo, a retro American-style hamburger place named as one of Hong Kong's best burger joints by a few publications. David and I both ordered a cheeseburger set, but I chose tater tots and he got fries.
As I haven't tried that many burgers in Hong Kong, it's probably not fair to make such a sweeping statement about the Honbo burger's ranking. However, it really was fantastic with just the right amount of toppings (lettuce, onion, pickle, house sauce). The tater tots were also wonderful fried nuggets of potato goodness.
I would happily eat the cheeseburger set at Honbo again, though perhaps not too frequently as I was very full afterwards. However, I'll still have to go to Five Guys to get a milkshake fix, as Honbo only serves soft drinks.
