Chicken and Mushroom Rice

Another restaurant where I frequently eat lunch with my colleagues is Sake and Yakitori on Shell Street in Tin Hau. It is Japanese, if you couldn't tell from the name.

Their set lunch is one of the best in the area, in terms of the different components included, though sadly there are no drink options. But, the sets at this restaurant are also a bit more expensive than other places (about $50-$80 HKD).

Along with the main course, you get a small salad and miso soup, as well as a cup of hot Japanese tea. And after your meal, you get one mochi ice cream, which is a small round bit of ice cream covered by a chewy 'crust' made of rice flour.

My favorite thing at Sake and Yakitori is the chicken and mushroom rice that is part of most of the meat and fish sets. The steamed Japanese style rice is topped with minced chicken and marinated mushrooms. Honestly, it is so good that I would happily eat it as a main dish!
