Laterblog: 81 Ban

I was sad when the Toast Box closed in Langham Place in Mong Kok, though to be honest I rarely ate there. However, it was replaced by an interesting Japanese-style cafe called 81 Ban, which serves sandwiches, pastas and more.

When we tried it several weeks ago, I had a pork cutlet sandwich on 'danish bread', which is more like a croissant than bread in texture. Despite the somewhat unusual bread, the sandwich was yummy, though not very healthy of course.

David had a bun-less hamburger (called a 'hamburg' in Japan), which was served on a sizzling skillet with tomato sauce and fries. Yum! I think I'll order it next time.
