Kota Kinabalu Kitchens

Our final stop in Borneo was Beringgis Beach Resort just outside Kota Kinabalu. It wasn't all-inclusive but we did eat at the hotel several times, as it was rather isolated. Their sweet and sour fish was pretty tasty, and the banana milkshakes were amazing.

One day we ventured out from the resort for some island hopping. On our way back, we decided to try Jothy's Fish Head Curry and Banana Leaf Restaurant (not for the fish heads of course but for the banana leaf experience). 

I got a vegetarian banana leaf (pictured above), which also came with a spoonful of dal. The side dishes were very tasty, but unfortunately lukewarm. We also ordered one roti to share, which came with wonderful dipping sauces--the best part of the meal.
