The Jim Thompson House and Restaurant

During the long weekend for Dragon Boat Festival, we took a quick trip to Bangkok. Although we didn't try to see too many sites, we did take a tour of the Jim Thompson House. It was very picturesque, with traditional Thai buildings, art and lush gardens.

However, the end of our tour was also the beginning of an impressive thunderstorm. After camping out in one of the galleries for a while, we waded our way to the on-site restaurant for a late lunch.

We ordered spicy chicken noodles and Thai papaya salad to share. Both were delicious, though I preferred the salad. I just love how refreshing and tangy it is.

To drink, I got a pot of mulberry chrysanthemum tea, one of the in-house flavors. It was very nice but didn't taste that much like mulberries. David ordered a Thai coffee, which was quite strong and sweetened with condensed milk.
