A long-awaited visit to The Cheesecake Factory

White plate with buffalo chicken strips, celery sticks and blue cheese sauce

When The Cheesecake Factory opened in Hong Kong a few years ago, I really wanted to try it for a taste of home. (Though in fact, I don't think I've ever eaten at this chain in the US. I've only tried their cheesecake.)

Back then, there was always a line to get in so we never actually went. Recently, I had a day off and we could arrive early before the dinner rush (if that's still a thing in pandemic times). So it seemed like a good opportunity to finally try The Cheesecake Factory.

The restaurant's menu is truly huge, so we decided to share a couple of our favorite appetizers. The buffalo chicken tenders were fantastic (though they cooled off very quickly in the air conditioning). The massive order of nachos was impressive, but didn't taste as good as it looked. Although the chips seemed freshly fried in-house, the cheese sauce was a bit too creamy rather than salty/cheesy.

Sadly, two appetizers shared between two people was more than enough food for one evening. We didn't have any room for dessert, and we couldn't even get a slice of cheesecake to go as we were en route to an orchestra concert. Hopefully next time!
