Pirata

Our first boozy brunch after the summer holidays was at Pirata, an Italian restaurant in Wan Chai. Luckily, we were seated right next to the windows, and being on the 30th floor were treated to beautiful views of the city (until it started to rain...)

The brunch is a semi-buffet, with self-serve meats, cheeses and salads. Additionally, starters of meatballs and asparagus flan are served to the table for sharing. Both of these were excellent, though I would consider it more asparagus soufflé than flan.

For my main course, I chose eggplant parmesan, though many of the options were tempting. It was very tasty, as was David's lasagna. Our friends were also pleased with their choices, of which the steak looked particularly delicious.

Although I am usually quite full when it's time for dessert at brunch, it is still one of my favorite parts of the meal. The dessert options at Pirata included semifreddo and panna cotta, both of which were very nice. However, the portions could've been a bit bigger, or perhaps a dessert trio would've been a bit more exciting for this dessert lover.
