Taiwanese Treats: Kenting

Kenting in southern Taiwan is a small town, and yet it has a very beach resort feel to it. There was a mix of Chinese and international restaurants, though only the latter seemed to have English menus.

One night for dinner we tried an Italian place called Amy's Cucina, which used old-fashioned sewing machines as tables. I had a huge plate of 'vegetable spaghetti', and I actually ate almost all of it!

During the day, not very many of the restaurants on the main strip were open. I guess they think everyone will be off at the beach! We ate lunch at Shark Bites Toast, where I had possibly the biggest sandwich ever: egg with pesto and rather too much mayo.

Our hotel, which was lovely and on the beachfront road, did not serve breakfast. But, we had a mini-fridge in our room, so I could buy this 7-11 prepackaged cereal treat: chocolate flakes with malted milk. Pretty yummy, though there was too much milk.

There also seemed to be a lot of Thai food in Kenting. We ate at a restaurant called Ocean Blue and both ordered different types of green curry. It was delicious, but not very green in fact. I also had a milk tea, which came with a cherry!
